The sixth Unthunk album was released today on Bandcamp.
It is called Elliptic, with material relating to the celestial mechanics phenomenon of orbital resonance.
Elliptic makes extensive use of the modular synthesizer, which is is a perfectly appropriate instrument to render planetary polyrhythms into audible form. It features LJ Mounteney’s vocals and Buff Allen on drums and percussion.
The program includes drones and long multi-track sequences, some of which include hand played instruments. The instrumental music is complemented by four songs with lyrics that translate orbital resonance into human terms.
