When posting these pieces, the last thing I intended was to provide background music. But it seems the FreeMusicArchive.org is a place where video producers go to find music for their projects. I almost didn’t release Perpetuum because it was particularly arcane (featuring mensural and inverse canons as well as challenging time signatures) and difficult to record. But it has found its way onto some very nice videos.
Check out the yummy Guardian’s foodie video, the University of Houston’s interlibrary loan video, an artist in action. There’s several others out there, even a few using Spiny Urchin. It does makes sense to use less intrusive instrumental pieces for backgrounds, and these two burble along innocuously.
It goes to show the disparity between initial impulse and resulting effect. Unexpected, but pleasing. Thanks to all who’ve made use of the material!
