On Saturday, April 18, there was an Unthunk album release party for Jumblesque. It was a modest affair: a few musical colleagues, including project contributors, came over to listen to the album.
It struck me how unnatural it is for a room full of people to sit quietly and give their attention to a full album of music. Folks are more inclined to half-listen to recorded audio, especially when not alone, and to choose tracks rather than albums when they do listen.
So it was a particular honour to have friends hunker down together to absorb the album in its entirety – as it was intended to be heard – launching it into the world with suitable ceremony.
